Kids are now crushing the Smarties candies in the wrapper, opening one end all the way, and the other just a little. Then they "pull" the powdered sugar in their mouths and exhale the "smoke." Some are even inhaling the sugar into their lungs. It makes them look "cool" - you have to see all the instructions on youtube on how to do this. Anyone's kids know about this?

But then again, Smarties ain't exactly great for your teeth and aren't health food in the first place. I think this is one of those things that parents can get all worked up and concerned about that will fade away the less of a deal that's made about it. Start doing news segments on it and featuring it in magazines and newspapers and so forth, and it'll be more commonplace than it is now, not less. (For the record, I used to also play with toy guns, and we'd gun each other down all day sometimes. I never gunned down anyone in real life. Sometimes kids play at things just to process it for themselves, or for a laugh. It isn't all foreshadowing.) <--- Ol' Granddad 2oonman begins rocking slowly again, nods off to sleep.

My younger son went to a Quaker school where they weren't allowed to have play guns or play cops and robbers, etc. So did that stop the play at home - absolutely not, lol. And what did he do for a senior project (which was approved and he got an award for the concept in his junior year) MILITARY STRATEGY in the Revolutionary War!!!!!! For those of you who are not familiar with the Quakers, they are pacifists. I just think it's a lot easier to go from play smoking to real smoking. And I agree with trek, what a waste of good candy. But maybe a good way to remedy a low blood sugar, lol.

The ones made by World Candies, in the shrink-wrapped box, those are the best. I think they're made of paste, but they sure are addictive. Hmmmmmm .... odd, that ....
