Best time to go Jan-Mar

    Jan-March is mostly slow. (President's Day Weekend can get crowded.) I lean toward March as there seems to be less chance of bad weather. Though when we were there in March 2004 it rained one whole day. We did not let that deter us however.

    Jan 7 all the schools are back in session. Mid March is when colleges start spring breaks, regardless of when Easter falls. So I'd start with "between Jan 7 til March 12." Then definitely avoid Prs. Day weekend, and I'd avoid the weekend before MLK Day as well.

    I'd bet the least busy weekend is the one right after kids go back to school, so Jan 9-13 for your trip. Not that those are the best dates (there will be ride closures) but probably the least crowded.

    We were there Mid March last year, and it was great! Moderate crowds. It did rain cold and hard one night (I had never seen DL so empty in my life), but otherwise it was great weather, sunny but not hot.

    Yep your right and there is one of the biggest conventions 1/17-1/20 - this would be the NAMM convention...I went last year during this as my husband is a musician and was attending the convention - the kids and I went too - DL was packed!! It was like a July weekday - not as bad as a weekend - but more than you would expect for January!!

    Thanks everyone. After looking at all the conventions...i've narrowed it down to Jan30-Feb3. However, do you miss out on things that time of year? What are the hours like and the weather? Oh and do they still do parades and fireworks? Sorry I've only been to Disneyland once. I am taking a 4 and 6 year olds who had a hard time with the very long days and early starts so I think shorter hours might be okay for them. Would love any info. Thanks
