We always had the queen/queen minisuite with the sofa bed. Last time, kids would not share the sofa bed so we brought a queensize aerobed for dd and put it over by the sink. She loved it-lol-thought she had her own room. The only complaint we had was one stay, we had that terrible sewer smell coming from the sink drain-ugh but I just read about someone else saying they had it at the Grand so it must be something going on in with Anaheim sewers. FWIW, we also can smell the same smell at the entrance to tomorrowland-lol. Oh, and the pool is not nice IMHO. Anyway, we are going back again and decided to add another night to our visit. Naturally, DLH is already booked up so I went to the BWPPI site and they said they were booked too. Then I went to the regular Best Western site and got a room-a good price too! So if you decide to pick that hotel, check both websites and compare prices, sometimes one is cheaper than the other! The other places we thought were decent were HoJos(nice pools, balconies, but far walk) and CCI(nice beds, nicest breakfast, far walk but has own shuttle, tiny pool)

It really killed our Disney buzz as we do like to take afternoon breaks but could not bear to be in the room and the kids would not swim because the pool smelled so bad and it was small and crowded in that area. The room, even though spacious and clean, felt like a cave to me. The decor and small window made the room dark. It didn't help either that our room faced the back side of Tropicana (?), big cement wall. Oh and the large truck parked AT our door (like 2 feet) did not help. I would suggest for people to request to face the IHOP side and an upper floor. This way you will get some sunlight and not be sleeping in the parking lot. IMHO. Sorry guys

Also, only "some" rooms have internet so if that is important to you, be sure to ask! One thing we always ask is to be on the top floor(3rd) simply because we don't want to hear anyone walking above us. We also ask to be toward the front on the side facing toward HoJo because you can see the fireworks from there and many times my kids are already asleep so we can still see them somewhat. As close as it is, the elevators are toward the center so we end up taking the stairs at the front. Not a big deal to us but it does add a bit of walking. We never do the breakfast there but they give coupons for either pancakes only or the continental. Dh took the kids once and they didn't like it so we have never gone back. With the big frige and the microwave, we didn't need it. I agree with drawbridge, this is not a place to hang out. We never used the pool or went back to the room for naps in the day. It is a place to sleep IMHO but it is nice to be so close. Dh will run back in the evening to grab sweatshirts and it takes him about 5 minutes! To "hang out" and relax, we like the DLH!

If you can get a similar price for Hojo's go there instead.

It makes for a nicer experience when in the pool. I had their free continental breakfast this morning. They offered donuts, danish, hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels with cream cheese, 3 kinds of cereal, oatmeal, coffee, orange juice, apple juice and lemonade. Not bad. The restaurant looked nice and clean. I don't know if it's been updated, but it didn't seem as tired looking as I recall from a stay some time ago. I'm not a big breakfast person, so I usually skip breakfast.

I just like to have the same Disney magic at the hotel as we get in the parks. My kids are young enough that the pool is a big deal! We like to go to DLR during the off-season so where we stay is important (as the parks close early!). And, I have to say, the breakfast was one of the worst I have ever had! Of course, we have only stayed at BWPPI once but there are such better hotel choices available that I won't go back!
