Coupla questions - I've been looking at sub construction photos for months now - anything new or different? The grid is relatively new (about a month or so), and there's a generator parked on top, anything else? These photos all seem to be more or less the same for some time now.

Also, can someone 'bottom line' what the changes seem to be for the back corner of HPB? They seem to be installing a new row of palms, and the pavement looks to be completely removed, presumeably to be replaced with pavement treatments more in keeping with other sections of the resort. Is that it? It's hard to determine just from the photos.

The muppets facade - one of the worst facades ever - rusty pipes and tanks on metal racks. What were they thinking?

As for the back corner of HPB, near Hollywood and Dine...

They are trying to remove the Hollywood and Dine building from view, which will not reopen to the public as part of this refurb, but remain a special events facility.

The work the next two weeks will focus on the Monsters. Inc. facade, plus the removal of the WWTBAM sign.

They have already removed the support structure for the Muppet*Vision sign

(Compare with the link in post #4)

The rumor is the sign itself will return in a new location.

Now if they could just recess the facades and eliminate the exterior muppet waiting area. Award Wieners needs more shady table space much more drastically than than the muppets need an overflow queue.

I wouldn't take much to put an opening in there, they could even just mesh the themeing.

If they really want to "sparkle" up that corner of HPB, they could start by eliminating this eyesore.

I can't believe they are still working on it. They painted the facade entirely. What more is needed?

The facade is painted in a flat billboard style. It looks ugly. Will they improve upon it?

Think of wher the tour given by the muppets charcters take you. The laboratory. The "buckets and pipes are actually boilers and air ducts representing the factories structure.

As for the the entrance, i have always suggested that they just remove the corner facade and expose the main queue area of the muppet attraction. Then the Muppets facade could be redone to match the rest of the other buildings on main HPB street.

But i am not sure whats going on in that area

They had brought paint and extra fur and painted crazy muppet faces on all of these pipes. The exterior of the Muppet building is a tribute to that.
