in the meantime catch a look at this - James Page in 1957 - 13 years old - playign skiffle on Youtube

A guy that in twenty years could rise on this list is Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, incredible guitarist.

One of those bands that you've heard but you don't know that you've heard.

BTW, where's Frank Zappa on this list?

Alice in Chains was just here on Saturday. The review of the show was outstanding, they said Cantrell was better than ever.

James Iha from Smashing Pumpkins was also very underated.

Beck would be in my next 20 - more personal taste than anything. I thought he was excellent with his Jeff Beck Group ( with Ron Wood - Rod Stewart )- - however I thought some other work more in line with Keith Richard / Robin Trower / Mick Taylor / Joe Perry --

    certainly very very good

that's why threads like this are good to hear other people opinions.

Look at the list above and No Robin Trower / Martin Barre / Steve Marriott etc - some pretty good names not there either.

And how does a top 100 not include Paul Kantner ?

sorry - just kidding - while I don't agree with top 5 ( like my vote matters) -I agree he is very good - so would be Paul Simon who is not on the list, which is why lists like this rarely work

He should definitely be on this list, but not in the Top 5, imo.
