Nevermind that my mom was in her best suit and heels, either. My mom knocks herself silly trying to not play favorites between my sister and myself. She even remembers to the penny how much she spends on birthday presents and tries to match it between the two of us each year. My mom is adventurous and would travel to anyplace, anytime at the drop of a hat.

(Actually, she has a recent sports-related injury, and she's finding it very difficult to follow her doctor's orders to rest and take it easy for a while.) 3. We're very alike, in terms of temperament and personality. When I'm down, she understands and can sympathize. When she's down, I understand and can sympathize. When we're both down, we go out to eat.

Stubborn is a word I'd use to describe her now. I know she loves/ed us although she never said/says it without prompting. She was and always will be the queen bee. OK, I'll stop now, is it obvious my good memories are being taken over by negative ones.

Some of our best times have been on our trips there together.
