    >>>HEARTFELT THANKSGIVING

    Though I offer my
    Thanksgiving in November
    But forget that each day
    merits my thanks,
    I am at heart ungrateful.

    And though I praise Thanksgiving as a noble tradition
    and desire it should be observed by all
    But by my life express no
    devotion to God or
    thoughtfulness to others
    I am not really grateful.

    And though I have a great
    family feast
    And share a bit with the needy,
    But my heart is dutiful or smug,
    I am still ungrateful.

    Thanksgiving of the heart doth magnify the Lord,
    Is never an occasion for pride or idle boasting.

    Thanksgiving of the heart is not selfish,
    Nor unmindful of the needs of others;
    Never wearies of service,

    Thanksgiving of the heart is not fretful,
    but always glad,
    Lightens our burdens,
    Deepens our joys,
    Sustains our faith,
    Heals our sorrows.

    Thanksgiving of the heart never fails,
    But whether there be possessions, they shall fail;
    But whether there be freedom, it may vanish away;
    But Thanksgiving of the heart always triumphs!

    For what worldly goods denied
    Thanksgiving of the heart
    offered greater happiness.
    What life made seem futile
    Thanksgiving of the heart made purposeful.

    What circumstances made
    insurmountable.
    Thanksgiving of the heart gave conquering power.

    And now abideth
    Thanksgiving of the Mind,
    Thanksgiving of the Purse,
    Thanksgiving of the Heart….
    But the greatest of these is
    Thanksgiving of the Heart!<<<
