He is a really good runner though. Anyhow, it was fun. I think I could of done faster but I got caught up taking pictures of all the characters and staring at the backstage stuff. I took some pictures. Some are really fuzzy but then again I was trying to keep up with the race not take good photos. http://www.peeaanuut.com/galle ry/album80

If so, im wondering if it made it this far or have you moved onto something a bit better? (just trying to say I helped, lol)

It has worked really well for us. It is amazing how much faster you can go when you have have music on your side. We didn't use during the race because the rules said you couldn't but we saw lots of people using MP3 players and the race officials didn't say anything. Thanks for the MP3 player it has made training a lot easier. We have a goal of a race every 2 months. My short term goal is to complete a race (5k) in under 40 min and my longer term goal is to complete a race in 30 min.

It was very much a relaxed atmosphere- families together, people in mouse ears, pirate bandanas, and other Disney gear. We started at Mickey and Friends, and the race starter was dressed in a pirate costume- he was accompanied by Mickey, Minnie, and the gang. As we went into DL, the band was playing at the entrance into Main Street. We went through Adventureland, where Aladdin and others were waving from the second floor of the Jungle Cruise. Then past Pirates, with Captain Jack in attendance. They even had pirates on the Columbia, and I thought I heard the cannon going off. Mile 1 was through the castle, and there were several characters waving from the castle. We also got to go backstage between Fantasyland and Frontierland. You guys get the point- characters and cast members throughout the course, cheering and trading high fives with the runners. Then into DCA- past Soaring and GRR, around Paradise Pier, then a short backstage section near Tower of Terror. The finish was right near the Animation Building. My one regret was that I didn't slow down to take a look around the backstage areas- thanks for posting the pics, Elderp.
