Kristin Ford shares some of the treasures she has found at Walt Disney World area outlet stores. These stores offer overstock and discontinued store quality merchandise at deep discounts.

Right near Little Lake Bryan ... coming off Hotel Plaza Blvd, you take a right at 535 (facing Crossroads at LBV) drive about a half mile (if that) go under I-4 and take first left near Marriott Village and curve around.

Premium Outlets are on the right about a mile down.

If you have traffic, then it might take you all of 10-15 minutes from Disney property. If not, maybe 5-7 minutes.

I'm surprised at how many folks say that. I think most of the outlet traffic is international visitors and locals and a few fans.

I don't always go because there's one in my local mall in SoFla (and another about 30 minutes away) and I usually rope a CM pal or two into taking me to Property Control/Character Connection (which used to be a whole lot better for deals than now, but when they are there, they're great!) when I visit WDW and that's enough Disney shopping for me.

But if I wanted to buy stuff from WDW (especially if I had kids) I'd make it a point to hit at least the two outlets in Orlando (the other is down I-drive near UNI) because you can get the same stuff as inside the parks/resorts for as much as 75% off. From pins to tees to towels to watches to toys to mugs to magnets to you name it ... yes, some of it can be a bit older (my local store now has pins from 2008 and 2009 ... Halloween and Christmas Party merchandise from the past few years ... DCL 2009 lines ...) BUT plenty (a majority, I'd even say) of items aren't dated, they're either overstocks, items that aren't selling or seasonal stuff.

    Definitely worth a visit.

(there really IS life beyond the MAGICAL archways!)
