Life was so much easier when my mom worked at Merle Norman and all the girls loved to make me "up" and I didn't have to do anything but show up! LOL. Whenever I talk about lipstick I always remember my high school music teacher. That woman forever had lipstick on her teeth! At first we didn't know her well enough to say anything but, after a while, she would give us a big toothy grin before every performance so we could check her teeth for lipstick! She was great.

Originally Posted By beamerdog I love lipstick!!!!!!!! I can't buy enough. Funny, since I'm very self-conscious about how my lips look. I was in an accident in 10th grade and my teeth came through my bottom lip which, obviously, changed the way it looked after they sewed me up. It's just fine, but I'm always conscious of it. Right now I've changed to a more sheer pink color by putting a base coat (prevents changing color), dabbing a little nude/pink/coral, and then applying philosophy daiquiri gloss. I love the way it tastes! By the end of the month, I'm sure to be experimenting with something else.

Lots of women do that. I used to be a big fan of lip gloss but it kinda makes me feel self-conscious now to be all "glossy". It looks great on some women though!

Or are your buys more color driven? <<When she does wear it she pretends that she just grabbed the wrong lipstick that morning and I pretend that she is telling the truth.>> Ahhh, now *that* is the secret to a good marriage my friend! LOL. <--- hands Trippy his Disney Dollar for braving a "girl" thread. And Lil Mermaid, my DH loves Burts Bees and swears by Carmex. Good stuff! I stick with my Chapstick because I don't like sticking my fingers in the jars. lol. So, do you lipstick wearers wear lip liner too?
Originally Posted By Autopia Deb I don't like sticking my fingers in the pots either so I use the tubes of Carmex. The only problem with that is if it's hot out the stuff gets all melty and liquid and when it's cold it gets so solid you can't squeeze it out of the tube. Good stuff though, it really heals when I get too chapped.
Originally Posted By Liberty Belle >>I thought you literally meant lip gloss on top of lipstick. Lots of women do that.<< Yeah - I do it sometimes myself, which is why I felt the need to clarify! Lately I've just been skipping the whole lipstick step and going straight for the gloss.

But it does make me feel prettier when I take the time to do it.
