As some of you know, my BIL's been in hospital for the past week with meningitis and it's all been pretty stressful. Well, he got released yesterday and he's doing well, but we got some more bad news today. My sister went for her 9-week scan and found that her baby had stopped growing three weeks ago. This is her third miscarriage from five pregnancies. Everyone is really upset about it as you can imagine, especially following such a bad week. (It's coincidental - I thought it was stress from the past week at first, but then I realised the baby died before her husband got sick). I was at uni when I got the call and broke down outside my lecture theatre and was comforted by a really lovely girl I'd never met before! Anyway, my sister's doing okay, she's a bit numb and probably reacting better than mum and I are at the moment, but I worry it will hit her harder in a day or two. Thanks for listening - again

Good to hear that your brother in law has recovered, my aunty had meningitis 5 years ago, I joined the meningitis trust then and they were a great help. She suffered no long lasting damage although was weak for a few weeks afterwards. So sorry to read about your sister, miscarriage is awful, the same type happened to me the year before I had my now 10 year old. I was devastated, as ofcourse was Patrick, he was off work for quite a while actually. I hope with your help and a loving family behind her she will be ok.

Just remember "There's a big bright beautiful tomorrow". But I'll look at the bright side and say it's good that your BIL is better. I know it doesn't stop the hurt, pain and loss nor does it balance it, but I'll take what I can get.
