The Grand Californian is a gorgeous hotel with wonderful amenities but the rooms are NOT large. The average room is 340 square feet, which is about the same size as the rooms at the Disneyland Hotel. Certainly adequate for the official capacity, but not big enough to exceed that it my opinion.

Originally Posted By nemopoppins How are your kids about sleeping? Mine could sleep anywhere. A few of them might complain but they'd get a good night's sleep no matter how cramped. In fact, when we leave Disneyland, we leave the park at closing and drive all night. The kids sleep in the car and go to school in the morning. My husband and I have hosted my seven year old daughter in our bed before on weekend mornings (trying to squeeze in a few more minutes) and we don't even have a queen size. So I would say that anything is possible.

If it's just for one night, I'd imagine that the 14 year olds could squeeze out some floor space. I'd just suggest that they understand that there is to be no complaining The other nights the 14 year old should be OK on the trundle.
