I've enjoyed this card, but I'm trying to recover from credit abuse (my own!), so it doesn't break my heart too much that I'm being forced to finally pay it completely off.

They didn't offer any incentive for using the card?

Gee, and we have to wonder why it wasn't very popular.

When I realized it just wasn't good for my credit rating to have so many cards, I started consolidating. I never actually cancelled my Disney CC, I think they just sent me a letter one day saying the program was discontinued and since my card was inactive it was also cancelled. Not a big deal, never really used it much anyway.

Oh, my Disney Visa though -- that says Cardmember from Day One on it. :)

I was in the Tower gift shop on Sunday and the CM ringing me up was making conversation. He asked why I didn't have a "new Disney visa". I have the original style red one, but it's not the original card. They sent me a new one in March of this year.

Anyway, I told him I had looked at the art available on the new cards and preferred the original red card, so I just stuck with that. He said, "Yeah, but the card is through Chase now instead of BankOne. My card still says BankOne on the front and he thought I needed one that said Chase.

Why the heck would it matter? Why would I go through the trouble of requesting a new card just so that it says Chase on the front?

When I lost my card about 10 months ago, it was enough of a hassle to get a replacement (and I wasn't happy with the options they provided at that time -- they really screwed up. First, didn't cancel the account like I asked. Second, didn't issue a new card. When I called 2 weeks later to find out what was taking so long, they THEN said they'd cancel and reissue but it was taking so long that they just convinced me to reissue the card on the same account. Which isn't very safe, but hasn't been a problem to date, so hopefully my original card is in credit card heaven and not in some identify thief's wallet, but I digress...)

Right so, why did Mr CM man think it was so very important to have a Chase logo on the front of my card? What possible difference could it make? I mean, if they just send me a new one I'll activate and use it, but why would I go out of my way to request a brand new card that looks identical to the old one? As if my life isn't complicated enough. Phhht.

Well, my parents LOVED the card. They had the Team Disney version, which was only available to CMs who were eligible for the "B" discount. And since everyone who had that card had the same level of discount, the discount was automatically applied. So whenever they ordered anything from the Catalog, or DeliverEars they only had to pay with the card. My Mom didn't have to track down a fax machine so she could fax them her id EVERYTIME she ordered something.
