The station and surroundings were packed in the AM as so many were milling around not knowing whether to give up or wait around til 5 lol.

One more weird thing, I noticed a long slog of folks heading for the WAY remote parking lots on my way home (again) a little after 4. I have to wonder, what the heck is up with that!? I mean, if they're parked way out there that means they must have shown up pretty late...so would they only stay in the parks a handful of hours and then give up and go home?

Seems like a ton of wasted effort for only a short visit and a couple of REALLY long walks.

Good question. I know someone that went to TDS during the first few months of operation, and it was packed. Unfortunately, they didn't know about FP, and they got only 4 things done (between attractions and shows) before going home. I have to wonder how many of those late-comers ran into a similar situation, were having a miserable time, then just gave up and went home disappointed, perhaps not to come back for a long time.

He actually went there on a date...COULDN'T get any food (tried the Arabian Food Court but the OUTDOOR wait was 2 hours), decided to get into a 90 minute line for 20,000 Leagues, walked around a bit more, and they left feeling frustrated as hell.

What can you say though...when it comes to TDR you simply MUST make a plan if the crowds are heavy (even if the plan is to identify lightly visited attractions and shows and enjoy your day that way when things are crazy).

Little X will be doing some Christmas singing with her Kindergarden class in Late December in the park...we have already planned to enjoy the parks in a very much "stroll around, enjoy what's open" mindset after she finishes her show!
