Would we be better off just buying AP's, or converting hopper passes into AP's. What is the benefit of the conversion......thank you for any help with this.

AP's have blockout dates, and ParkHoppers don't. So for your first trip, you don't have to worry about paying the extra $30 to enter the parks on a blockout date, or schedule something else to do.

Also, the 3 day and more ParkHoppers come with an Early Entry, which allows you into the park on selected days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). So you can take advantage of the extra hour.

And since you get full credit for the amount you paid for the ParkHopper towards a Annual Pass (AP must cost more than the ParkHopper), you get the above benefits for no extra charge.

A minor benefit, you also can spread out the payments, paying for the ParkHoppers early, and then for the upgrade later when you arrive.

You can upgrade on a blockout day, but wait until you've entered the parks for the last time that day to avoid possible entrance hassles.

If you're staying in a Disney hotel, it is sometimes better to skip parkhoppers, depending on the AP hotel discount offered (if any.)
