I have a bunch of the waffle pants now, the thicker cotton underpants. But they don't absorb that much so ever time she has an accident I still end up having to change everything from the waist down. I would love to find some waterproof pants that could be pulled on over top, something like this http://www.pottytrainingconcep...GVP.html, but have had no luck at all finding anything like it. I ask in a store and people look at me like I am completely crazy. She does really well when we are home, but less well when we are out as there is just too much going on to want to stop and pee. Even if I do drag her away to a potty she is hopping off and declaring 'Done" before her little tush even hits the seat and she throws a fit if I try to stop her. I am at a loss, what did you have your little one wear during potty training ? How do you convince them to pee on a potty that is not their own ? Any other tips ?

My last piece of advice is to carry some post it notes in your purse so that you can cover the sensor on automatic flushers. They're big and loud and scary to little ones!

Of course both had accidents but they were pretty good about being potty trained.

We used those at night as they potty-trained. Unfortunately they don't seem to offer those anymore. The do make covers in toddler sizes though, and I do highly recommend the product. (it's pricey but I used it on all 3 kids and then passed them on to others!)

Velo - The diapers we used are very similar to the ones you linked too, while they are great I would really love to find a pull up type that she can do on her own and is less like a diaper. I will look for the Kushies, those look promising =) As I have all the underwears I really just need the waterproof cover to make leaving the house easier.

They wanted to make it to the potty. They also liked to get stickers when they did make it in time. My son took longer for him to be ready. He was 3 when he was ready.( My girls were 20 months old) But when he was it only took 4 days.

She throws a fit if you ignore this request. I am taking that as a sign of readiness. I hate the pull ups because they are like diapers and I have to keep buying the things. I use her undies when we are at home but I really need something waterproof when we go out. As it is when we are out that she is having more challenge we really need something. Staying home until she it trained is not an option at this point, but neither is peeing over everything.

During the day I had him wear underwear and it did mean changing his clothes more often at first but he really hated the feel of wet underwear so it helped. After he had the hang of using the toilet during the day I stopped putting the training pants on him at night. I think there were two accidents before he got the hang of things all around.

After not getting anywhere even using stickers or M&Ms, I let it be for a little while. I knew she was physically capable of doing it, so unfortunately I ended up bribing her which did work great though. I bought a basket and filled it with cheap $1 store items from stickers, a coloring book, a little people toy, plastic ring, etc. Everytime she went potty, I let her pick something out of the basket. It actually worked a little too well as she would go potty, but just pee a little bit. Get her toy and then go potty again 10 minutes later and get another toy. I told her when the toys were all gone, that meant she was potty trained.

LOL! I actually like Pull-Ups, but only in certain situations. They work great for when you're out & about, or on a road trip, or when she's just starting to go overnight without a diaper. When we first started using them, we would put them on over the undies so that the kids could still feel the wet undies if they had an accident, and it wasn't a huge cleanup every time for me. We also re-use them. If Dude didn't go potty in his one night, he can wear them the next night, that way they aren't being wasted. I usually don't let him wear them more than 2 or 3 nights just because the stuff on the inside starts to break down. I also recommend keeping her in dresses or skirts while she's learning. It'll be a lot easier for her (and you) for the first little bit so if she has to make a run for the potty, she's not spending tons of time trying to get her britches off & potentially having an accident just because of that. One other thing that worked with Bug when she kind of hit that point where she didn't want to go potty in the bathroom anymore was to bring the potty chair in the living room & let her sit on it (she had a short time where she didn't wanna go potty because she didn't wanna "miss" anything going on).
