My husband, myself, and our two-year-old son were looking for something nice to do for our fifth anniversary that wouldn't break the bank. A substantial discount offer made Vero Beach our choice.

I'm conflicted. I want to check out the resort, and the discount is great, I just want to be sure that we won't be bored silly. We're booked for three nights - can we keep busy for four days there?

We're Floridians so it feels weird to go to Vero Beach on vacation!!

Now being a Floridian already will take away some of the wow factor I have with having an ocean view at night...

the resort is first class Disney service as it used to be at all Disney hotels... they have two excellent restaurants - Shutters and the more upscale Sonya's...(Sunday AM they have a Max & Gooft character breakfast) -

The pool is very nice with a nice slide and surrounded by a small miniature golf course -- there are arts and crafts for the kids every hour on the hour ( some have nominal charge) - now for a two year old there are things to do also - but I will say many of the entertainment/craft offerings more geared to say 4-5 and up...

On the Second floor is the Green Cabin room - think nautical bar with ocean view - also serves food....

2 wav runners available for renting - as well as a small catamaran type sail boat...and kayaks... the beach is private ....

My children are now 12 and 21 and we have been going for 6 years now and they wouldn't think a trip to WDW was complete without Vero...

also my favorite crab shack anywhere about 15 minutes north in Grant Florida - Ozzie's Crab Shack...not a fancy place to look at - but the crab is outstanding
