I paid to see her one year in the 70's but it's when she developed her phobia for flying and she cancelled. I was heartbroken. I grew up listening to Aretha because of my mom. She loved her, we didn't have a lot of money and I remember her saving all her coke bottles to buy her albums. I had to ask permission to play them by myself if she wasn't going to be around. At this point, I'm not interested in seeing her anymore because I'm afraid I'll be disappointed and I don't want to be. While still powerful and soulful in a different way, her voice is just not the same anymore. I wanted to see her in her heyday. When she was younger and had a rawer voice. I still on almost a daily basis play her music from my following favorite albums: Aretha Arrives I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You) Lady Soul Aretha Now Young, Gifted and Black Let Me In Your Life Sparkle She is one of those artists than you put the album on and EVERY song was good, not two songs off a whole album. Who's your ONE artist?
