The California Grill high atop Disney's Contemporary Grill in early September. Here's an early look at the changes that are coming.

That said, this place needed an update to drag it out of the Seinfeld 1990's Era something awful. This big rehab should have happened a decade ago, and about now they could be refreshing it for the second decade of the century.

And the food? Well, no one really goes to Orlando for the food, do they?

Spot-on assessment TP2000! It looks like it could have been a Morton's or McCormick & Schmick's or Ruth's. It just lacks something special. It doesn't look like an individual high-end restaurant - which is what the price points suggest it is.

Puccini Group have done a number of restaurants for WDP&R recently but this one doesn't come close to the magic of Remy.

My memory is fuzzy but I thought the last renovation was in the late nineties? This recent renovation project for the Contemp has been dragging on forever. I think that is 8 years since they first began work on the outside rooms.

That's the way TDO does things these days.

I don't know the exact date, but the old aesthetic looked like something straight out of 1996-1998ish. For a place that's supposed to be 'contemporary', they really do seem to go through phases of how contemporary it really is. Plus at the rate they're going, they'll have to start all over again about the time the refurbishment wraps up
