I think Lutz would welcome any kid-friendly attraction, as long as it was up to Disney standard.

I've seen it move the entire stock market on a whim. In fact, the entire stock market system has changed significantly since the internet came around (for better or worse is yet to be known, but it IS a driving force). Don't be so sure executives aren't reading this stuff, they most likely are VERY much aware of what's being said. If you think about it, they'd be stupid NOT to tap into the greatest source of "grassroots info" on the planet. A well known CEO was recently caught PRETENDING to be someone else in order to pump his company and degrade his competetors on Yahoo. Al Lutz just might have been a driving force in the changes at Disneyland, but we'll never know it (Disney will never say it). He did piss me off at one point by stealing the words of a friend...but he appologized profusely and retracted the said statements (it was several paragraphs)... I'd not discount the power of this grassroots guy...if the powers that be are NOT listening, it would be to their detriment. (of course, Disney execs are notoriously stupid and greedy though just like many other corporate stooges, so I'm sure they don't take the guys words as seriously as they SHOULD).

Monsters Inc is being built on that space (and quite a bit more) but in an all-new building. And I'm devestated about the proposed Tomorrowland redo for Tokyo. It's the very last Tomorrowland in the all-white "world on the move" motif. I will seriously cry if they change it.

My point (which is irrelevant since I misread the post I was responding to) was that Tokyo Disneyland's Tomorrowland is not a shell of its former self. I like the retro look of it, but nothing is static in this world in the long run. It was really nice, for example, to be able to go on Tokyo Disneyland's Pirate ride and see what was essentially the original without many changes, including the pooped pirate and the girl in the barrel, the pirate on top of the barrels, and so on. But, it was bound to be changed at some point. There is no point in lamenting what used to be there. Enjoy what is now there.

And, it seems to me, his points about Disneyland in decay were VERY valid, as I was seriously BUMMED visiting Disneyland back in 2000, but thought the place looked AMAZING when I visited again 2 years ago. Did it have anything to do with him? Well, probably not. But the point was, he wasn't just raving about "nothing"...there were obvious issues that any true Disney lover would be concerned about. and p.s. I doubt you could take such photos at TDL unless you were VERY selective about the days you were visiting (like, bad weather days or maybe a day or two in the offseason, but the place is normally packed from open til close and I can say that for sure because I worked there...DisneySea, on the other hand...depends on the season but I've seen the place "totally dead" on plenty of occasions).
