As big and heavy as it is, either they're going to leave it to last, or maybe even leave it up for a while longer?

You are right, and the 50th celebration is still on.

I think they are just being pre-emptive taking down some of the blingbling. Probably to punctuate the upcoming "Million Dreams" campaign.

I thought it was a VERY effective castle overlay as well. Really pretty, and not obtrusive at all.

Rumors were going around that they might even leave it up there past the end of the celebration, because it was so nice.

    But I guess not....

Let's hope the next celebration is as good or better than this one is. Farewell Happiest Celebration On Earth, welcome Year Of A Million Dreams.

I would have my own happiest celebration if the entire archway was gone, replaced by a more ornated and classy welcoming sign, like the ones at DLR or TDR, with rocky cascading fountains and other more stylish features and colors.

Someone has not been reading TDLFAN's current updates on all parks.. tisk tisk! I even went all out to post a pic from my cellphone no less!!!

Must be a radical idea in the 21st century because Spirit's idea is just what the Disney parks used to be like as recent as 1992. Oh well... I guess we have to head over to Japan for that radical Disney experience...

With no advertisement there are no people with no people with is no money. Problem is if they dont have money they wont be able too fund the projects to begin with. Just chill. Unfortunately Disney is a big business and Theme Parks sometimes have to make up for other parts of the company that are not doing as well.

I am not saying Disney shouldn't advertise, although it did quite well in the 70s and early 80s when it basically didn't advertise.

What I am saying is stop the sham celebrations that have no substance and reinvest in the parks.

And please don't give me the theme parks need to support other underperforming divisions of the company line ... that's what got Disney into the mess of the past decade to begin with.

Spirit, you couldn't have hit the nail on the head any better. A simple concept which lead to the best of times (70's & 80's) at Disney.

New attractions, properly rehabbed attractions and attention to quality will bring the crowds to WDW. I'm willling to bet EE has increased the attendance at DAK.

Hopefully someday Disney will get back to basics and return the quality to the Disney name. The Disney we all fell in love with and want back. I won't hold my breath though!!!!

Just go to Tokyo Disney Resort and you'll be breathing easily again, and your faith in the Disney brand will be restored.
