Not sure why but, as an example, anytime I do not make final table (that would be top 9) when playing in a poker tournament (usually around 65-80 players), I am VERY disappointed in myself. I also compete when others are unaware I'm competing - for example, if Sally does XYZ at speed 123, *I* will do WXYZ at speed 12. Maybe it's my way of seeking approval?

All that just so she could prevent me from scoring points. Not competitive?? Phffuuphfff.

I am very competitive only because of my brother. When you are a kid and your sibling taunts you, than you have no choice but to be competitive. I was playing mariokart with my boss today and everytime she wins she has to announce she won. When i win she says nothing, and i do win more LOL.

I do my best to keep that in check, but it will on occasion come out. "I am very competitive only because of my brother." Yeah, I think part of it for me is my previously-mentioned big brother. But, the way *I* look at it is this: it's because of HIM that I was motivated to be a National Merit Scholar and get a full scholarship, and it's because of HIM that I started taking the SAT when I was in 7th grade... though I did stop after 9th grade when I got my 1450 - didn't figure I needed to break 1500 the way he did on that old scale since math is not now nor has ever been my strong point. Anyhow, I think a good dose of healthy competition is nice, and I love that there are people like Pixie and Schmitty that the rest of us can emulate and try to be more like when winning and losing. But, trash talking can be fun if done with other experts... like me and my Steelers fan friends chatting with our Cowboys fan friends.
