You can definitely see almost everything in each park in 5 days - I would recommend 1 day each for Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Studios, and 2 days for Epcot. That leaves you one day for Blizzard Beach and one day to just hang out.

The answer depends on the following:

    1. What is the compostion of your party?(2 young industrious adults on the run or a family reunion of 18 or a party of 3 in your golden years who rely on 2 hour naps in the early afternoon ect.)

    2) What specific time of the year do you plan to tour?

    3) How thorough do you want to be when touring?(will you want to repeat many attractions, will you see every show, how much sitdown dining and shopping do you anticipate?)

So... party makeup, time of travel and personal touring habits need to be addressed before I can give you my opinion.

And even though you have seen Dl(I assume you mean the one in Anaheim) that should not factor in when determining how many days you need at WDW.

Sure it should. If someone has seen Honey, I Shrunk the Audience recently, or Tough to be a Bug, or ridden Star Tours, then those are attractions that could easily be skipped in the interest of time.

I am assuming you don't plan on going to typhoon lagoon as well. AK and MGM are really half day parks or so especially if you get there in the morning and fastpass Tower or terror and rocknrollercoaster. also it depends on what you mean by kiddie rides as I see adults riding dumbo and the carousel all the time.

Here is why: very few attractions are the same from the facade to the queue to the actual show or ride. Without systematically going through every single attraction at all 11 "dry" Disney themeparks I can only think of 1 attraction that is absolutely identical from its inside to outside, head to toe(and even that attaction might have a subtle difference or two--one which I may have missed).... Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin in Dl Anaheim and Tokyo Dl.

But then again I am probably more of a Disney themepark nitpicker/connoiseuer than most.

And I think 7 days is enough to see just about everything, as long as you're at the park of choice at park opening, and stay till closing, maybe taking a break in mid-afternoon for a swim and/or a nap. Of course, this also assumes you're not visiting at the really busy times of the year like summer.

We went for 7 days and did the marathon pace. I was able to go the four major parks MK,EP,AK, and DS. In the parks I did almost every "ride" attraction that was open, the exception was the racecars in MK (could of gone on them but I didn't want to). AK I missed the Lion King Festival and only saw part of the Flights of Wonder show, it gets hard to schedule everything in one day because they stagger the shows out. We also did one night of Downtown Disney including the clubs of Pleasure Island. We did a morning-afternoon of Typhoon Lagoon. In addition to spending time at our resort (Allstar-Music) we visited the following resorts to check them out: Polynesian Resort (Spirit of Aloha), Grand Floridian (V&A's), Dolphin and Swan (explored it before getting our car) and the Wilderness Lodge (Whispering Cafe and to see the Golden Spike Room). We did both circuits of the Monorail and cruised the boat from DS to EP and back. We also went to church in Kisimee on Sunday. It was a blistering pace I was running around (like a kid in a candy shop). Mrs P, who is pregnant, wasn't always able to keep the pace so it was necessary to arrange meeting places. Also beforehand we planned the trip like an full on D-day assault. It was crazy but A) it was our first trip ever and B)I don't see us going back for awhile. It was by no means a "relaxing" vacation. I'd call it a more "action packed" vacation. I personally had a blast. It had this kind of bam, bam!! Quality to it. Due to the planning we knew however what we were getting into and even then we had to make adjustments. There was one day where Mrs. P. had to cut out and just rest, but it was ok because she knew her limits being pregnant. I have to say our vacation was not for the unfit, if you've been following the community threads you might have heard I recently did a half-marathon. If you want to see everything you have to be prepared to walk ALOT. Everyday we were walking about 7-9 miles, it can get crazy if your not up for it. I don't think it is for everyone but I know for me it was a great trip I will never forget.

BTW, we don't always go for these high energy vacations. In fact this was a very rare occasion, most of our vacations consist of sitting arround a pool or a tent.

We are going back next summer with the youngest daughter & the 5 grandkids which should speed us up but I still doubt we will do all we want. But then 5 days at DLR is pushing it too and WDW has 2 more parks.

With that said...we did everything that we really wanted to, some things twice. We had a marvelous time. However, I was nicknamed "the task master" and almost wore my family out. But you'll have two more days than we did.

Just do your research and pick and choose, and try not to go commando!!

Missed Fantasmic for the first time, did not get to go to EPCOT . (only saw Illuminations at night) Did not see all of AK. The reason being 10 People in our party. Some slow walkers, Others infants. Plus we went to US and IOA and Sea World. So we had about 6 Full days at WDW. 7 is still not enough unless you skip small stuff and dont go to US,IOA,SW.

2 what do you mean by "everything"?

my wife and I went for 5 days in February of 2000 and did each park in 1 day with a second trip to AK on the 5th day. we managed to ride pretty much all the rides and take in most if not all of the shows/parades.
that being said there were never any crowds, we spent more time walking through any of the ride queues than waiting for anything and quite a few rides we simply got right back on again rather even walking out and back in again. also aside from the rides and shows we really did not do a lot of other things, virtually no dining out (we had a condo with a full kitchen and brought lunch into the park everyday) and were in the park pretty much open to close each day (makes for a very long day)

there are a few planning sites and a ton of resource to aid you in planning yourself I would use them to make sure you get to see and do everything you want and not miss anything. one of the best in my opinion is http://www.allears.net/index.h
    tml

ask here for a list of "not to miss" things and maybe start from there.

We had a day off from the parks in the middle and used the hotel pool, checked out one of the other hotels, and had dinner at the Grand Floridian. We also took another night to go to the luau at the Polynesian. However, lines were really good - we rarely had to wait longer than 10-15 minutes -- and since we had been there before we had a good game plan. We didn't go to any water parks. We didn't get up particularly early or stay till the last minute any night, but it was just my wife and I -- no kids.
