That's a horrible angle and quite a distance from the lagoon, as I've been up on that terrace recently and I wasn't impressed with the view it offers at all from an artistic standpoint. I hope they don't try charging DVC people extra to go up on that terrace for a rather crummy perspective of the show.

But the IMPORTANT news here is... April 6th, 2010 they run a full show in the lagoon, beginning to end.

I'm sure there's plenty of testing and tweaking still needed, but the assertion by several folks on this board that World Of Color won't be ready until July now seems very inaccurate.

The soundtrack seems like all the other shows form the past 15 years. Including all the songs from Animazement.

    WOW. Wow wow WOW.

I was tearing up even though I couldn't see the projections. This is going to be a monster hit for DLR, and DCA especially. The video makes me anxious to see it in-person, and I don't even have a trip planned,

Thank you anonymous guest for the sneak peak!

I skipped around some to avoid spoiling it entirely for myself, but there's some bits where they need to tweak things - but minor shifts in the show timing. I'm sure there's other stuff we can't see from this distance like x-fountain is broken or pointing weird or what have you as well, but the general cues look right, some need to be shifted a little. Either lights are early or fountains are late or vice versa. I'm sure someone was scribbling those down furiously as the show was going.

There are a few moments where it's like "something seems to be missing" where it's possible there's an effect not working yet.

But at this point.. I don't quite understand why we're a month away from the show.. unless whatever is missing is really super-broken.

When I saw a sneak peak of the London Symphony Orchestra (or whoever it was who provided the instrumentals) recording Night On Bald Mountain I thought "more of the same?," but I still think the show comes across brilliantly.

Or on second though, i'm sure they were video taping it too and are probably watching it right now.

Let's not try to criticize the show after the very first video that comes in, shot by a tourist with his Sony Handycam on sale at Best Buy he also uses to tape his daughters soccer practice with, standing on the roof of a nearby hotel at a very poor angle and at quite a distance.

Heck, you can't even see the projection screens or any of the amphitheater effects from this angle. You could barely, just barely, make out the Chernabog tower from that angle. It's a horrible place to watch the show from, really.

I think the best we can take from this video is a basic rundown of the audio tracks, and an overall scope and scale of the fountains and their lighting. So much of the show we still can't see or understand here.

That said, I am SO EXCITED to see this show in person from inside DCA's designated viewing areas! It's getting very close now!

Just curious, now that we know the tracks and movies used in this show, what music you would have selected instead?

And while the Disney Geek in me thinks it would have been witty to use original WoC 1960's TV material like "The Spectrum Song" by Ludwig Von Duck, that would have had absolutely no emtional meaning for 99.98% of the 5 Million people per year who visit DCA. Heck, even the fanboys would tire of that after about 20 seconds I imagine.

I, for one, was thrilled and surprised to hear the first 30 seconds of this show use the original 1961 introduction of the TV show here. I was fully expecting us to only get the 21st century pop remake of that one, but we got the real intro to kick things off. You just can't help but smile when you hear that bravado voice announce "Walt Disney presents!..." That's so awesome that is going to be included in a theme park show! Almost as cool as Walt saying the dedication speech during the fireworks that 50th Summer back in '05!

But for those who find this WoC audio selection mundane or boring, what would you swap stuff out with exactly?

The audio overall doesn't bother me, but the transitions I caught don't seem as tight as they could be. Especially the intro.. that seemed to just have dead air after it, but it wasn't just the preshow ending since the fountains were going full blast at that point.

Also, Enchanted found its way in there, no? I kinda get it.. but i need to be convinced.. it just pulls me out of the thematic grouping.

Under the Sea - transition in was awkward and the segment seemed way too long for the length of the program.

So, no major complaints, just little snips and trims to lean and tighten it up from what i've seen.

Perfect proof that Disney, as a company is perfectly fine. It's just WDW that needs to pick up the slack and start doing things like this.

As for the little nit picky things, yeah, more of the same music, some odd transitions, and some missing effects...might even be missing the liiiittle bit of pyro it might get.

    Still, great.

I really do like DL Fantasmic's seamless integration of live actors, floats and puppetry performing along with the water screen projections and fire effects, which WoC will not feature such live actor performances. However, it's hard to say if I'll like Fantasmic or WoC better, or like the shows equally, as we couldn't see all of WoC's effects in that video. But, the WoC use of effects and technology that you CAN see in the video are simply amazing. I look forward to seeing the show in person.

I get the impression that Disney's show designers run on a different kind of pixie dust than the folks putting the attractions together. With some of the recent fireworks shows and other productions like this one they seem to be on a totally different wavelength than the people designing the attractions.

On another note, I think it's very difficult to see in the video just how high some of those fountains are. Certainly bigger than anything in Fantasmic.
