It ended up being the 3rd one of those in 20 minutes right before going to sleep that made me yack in the morning, but our group was in DAK at the rope drop and were on one of the first Safaris of the day.

You may also want to work out some sort of plan for pacing ahead of time. Plan on it taking the majority of the day (we started around 1pm and felt rushed at the end), and get started on a full stomach. Make a stop along the way for a big dinner and a bit of a rest. We stopped at the Biergarten in Germany, which was really fun, good food for the occasion, and all-you-can-eat. It did take some back-tracking, which helped lead to the rush at the end, but it was totally worth it. Snacks along the way would be a good idea too. We grabbed some extra pretzel rolls at dinner for later on the trip, but completely forgot about them until the next morning, when my friend had a nice wet surprise in her purse!

You might want to share some of the drinks with a friend too. No matter how much you've eaten, and how long you spread it out, 12 stops is a lot (can't forget the African Outpost!). Having half at a couple of them (especially with the sake in Japan!) is probably a good idea.

You might also want to have some sort of plan for what you will get at each country. Some don't have many options (Norway, Morocco, USA, Outpost), but at others there are some really good drinks hidden in the mix. In Italy, I'd recommend the Rosa Regale, which is a sparkling rose wine, and in France, the Grand Marnier slushee (served at the outdoor stand on the lagoon side of the main walkway) is like Creamsicle but better! The sake in Japan was definitely the most miserable stop of the trip, but it was also the most memorable, so that's a must as well.

The last thing I would recommend is find a way to get a drink in Canada. When I did it, the outdoor place was closed because of the fairly-light crowds and rain, and Le Cellier wouldn't let us in (shocking!) so we had to have UK-round 2 instead. It was a little bit of a disappointment, but it was still a great day.

Here's a link to the play-by-play of the day, in case you want some more details.

I appreciate the advice to get food - while the DrinkAroundtheWorldShowcase.com guide also suggests eating, I thought I would be too full. Now I know how important that particular piece of advice is.

I sure am looking forward to my December trip!!

Yah, well it was my first time ever having anything to drink, so I think I did pretty well. : /

I hung out there A LOT on my CP in 2008. Never had a problem with anyone, nor did I ever see the thugs that all the apologists claim were running rampant.
