In about 3-4 years we will have 2 world class theme parks. But the resort will really have very subpar lodging compared not only to other Disney resorts, but just Anaheim in general. I understand that the only hotel that Disney built in Anaheim themselves is the Grand CA, but that does not give them a pass to neglect the other two hotels.
