Do any of the Florida hotels have little hidden gems like fountains, gardens or activities that would be worth checking otu while we are there?

    Lets see:
Grand Floridan- gorgeous hotel lobby and grounds
    Poly- Great beach/lobby/atmosphere
Contemp- Monorail goes through the hotel (enough said!)
Wilderness Lodge- If you thought the Grand Cali was good.. Plus the geyser, Iron Spike Room and the best pin cart at WDW
Fort Wilderness- A great place to wander plus the Chip n Dale (or Chuck n Dave in my world ;)) Campfire
Port Orleans Riverside- Great Atmosphere and fishing (if thats your thing)
Port Orleans French Quarter- Great atmosphere and GREAT Beignets
Old Key West- decent theming but a great relaxing place
Saratoga Springs- decent theming but great if you love horses
Pop Century- a big can of playdoh , need I say more (plus just a fun nostalgic place to wander)
Caribbean Beach- Weak on outside theming (IMO) but its still nice to visit
All Stars- Herbie the Love Bug! plus like Pop just a fun visual treat
Animal Kingdom Lodge- Animals (and a gorgeous Lobby)
Boardwalk- Great place to just wander
Yacht and Beach Club- also fun to just wander and get an ice cream at Beaches n Cream
Coronado Springs- a tranquil place to visit

I *think* thats all of them- They each have something that makes them special unlike most hotels in the area. Personally I love spending time at the Lodges and Poly but have spent time at each

The AKL has the story time out by the fire pit at night.

Oh, there are so many at AKL alone!

You can rent mouse boats at CBR, Poly, and Contemporary. I'm sure you can rent them elsewhere too, but those are the places I've used personally.

There is a trail that you can walk from the WL to the WL Campgrounds.

You can take a Segway tour at Epcot in World Showcase before that section opens. You have it all to yourself.

If you imbibe, I suggest a nice drink at the Poly outside bar. The barkeeps there are the nicest people and they seem to enjoy talking to people. (If you don't drink, order a coke!)

I am sorry to say Disneyland does not have water taxi service.Of course, this is just comparing Hotels right?
