I still think Tarzan as a character is the epitome of animation. Many others are superb; Tarzan himself is supreme. Glen Keane has a magnificent body of work under his belt, but Tarzan tops them all.

And this from someone who still dislikes all the songs except Trashin' the Camp. And I don't think Deep Canvas is any great shakes, either.

    All just MHO.

The only bad thing about it was when it became apparent he was being stalked by that awful Jane creature--who fancied herself as his 'one and only'. Well, I'm sure she knows--by now--that she has some fierce competition. Some day I'm going to wrestle that jungle hunk away from her and take him back to my cottage in Morva--where he'll be perfectly welcome to drive ME ape!

ORGOCH: (sigh) Still singin' the impossible dream blues, is ya? Ain't it 'bout time ya just gave up, sister? Ain't no way Scarzan's gonna' give up even a plain Jane fer a wart infested tramp like yerself. Git OVER it, already!

ORWEN: Well, I totally agree that Tarzan is a great movie. The only thing that bothers me is that whenever I'm watching a scene with Turk in it, I start thinking about some TV show called The View. Other than that, it's a movie I'm sure Uncle Walt would have made if he were still with us. If he's looking down from above to see his studio's version of TARZAN, he must be very proud.

    LOL!

Witches, when I first walked through Tarzan's Treehouse in Disneyland, I swear I envisioned Orddu, visiting the attraction ahead of me. She was down on her knees and trying to look up Tarzan's... credits.

The scene where Jane gets chased by the baboons is one of the best pieces of animation in recent history.

The scene between Tarzan and Jane is very well done, as is Jane's description of her visit from the ape man. 'And daddy, he took my boot!'

I actually like all the music EXCEPT for 'Trashin the Camp' -- but think it works in the context of the movie.

Overall 'Tarzan' is one of my favorites in the modern Disney animation group, that starts with 'The Little Mermaid' and ends with, one of those....

LOL, I always laugh at that line. I also like how the Proffesor says "loincloth?"

The entire relationship between Kala and Tarzan is so great. I love when we first see Tarzan after "Son of Man" and he's interacting with Kala. My favorite line: "I'm your mother. I know everything."

But then there's the entire scene where she takes him back to the treehouse. The success of the film rests on that scene and it's executed just right: Tarzan's clumsiness in human clothes. Kala's look of heartbreak. His reassurance to her that she'll always be his mother. And you totally BELIEVE that she is his mother.

    Great movie.

    Very subtle & very well-done.

My niece listened intently (face screwed up), and after the long explanation was done, she simply said to us, "Like Kala and baby Tarzan." We said yes. She nodded.

And she went back to her dessert with the full understanding of how parents can love their adopted children as if they were their own. Simple as that. It was awesome.

Apparantly Minnie Driver ad-libbed that line.

They just left the tape going, and off she went.

The actual bit is much, much longer, and they edited it down to what's used in the movie.
