TheSmokinGun.com reports a lawsuit by a Pennsylvania woman against Disney alledging Donald Duck had groped her has been settled...

The Pennsylvania woman who alleged that she was fondled by Donald Duck during a visit to Epcot Center in Florida has settled her lawsuit against Disney, federal court records show. ..... The court filings do not disclose settlement terms, which presumably included a payment to Magolon, a 28-year-old Upper Darby resident. ... Magolon contended that her fondling at the puffy hands of the cartoon character caused her to suffer “severe physical injury, emotional anguish and distress including, but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder.”

Isn't it funny how often it's still call "Epcot Center" all these years later?

My mom complained of groping at DLP 11 years ago. Though from what I could see, it was a case of the character not seeing properly and putting their hand where they thought best, the gloves were so thick, they wouldn't have felt anything.

But there was no trauma. She was annoyed for about 5 minutes.

Urrgghhhhh, if groping did take place, of course that is wrong, but overall, this case just is another notch in wasting public funds, ruining lives for youngsters by 1000 paper cuts (my kids are no longer allowed to take sun cream to school as the teachers and other children are not allowed to apply it). And after a while it will affect the overall experience in the parks (the payoff will have to come from somewhere, the operating procedures may change etc.)

On another note, reports are coming in that after the Big Thunder accident in Paris last month, all the attractions that have moving effects near the ride vehicles (PotC, Snow White, Space Mountain etc.) have had the effects switched off. We know what happened with Alice in Wonderland in Anaheim. It shows cause and effect.

I wonder what the effect of this case will be?

He's over at Mexico. And at the Character Stop maybe? I'm not sure.

But you also have to have some common sense and look out for yourself. That's just life. So grow up and deal with the situation, if you really believe there is one. For gosh sakes, there is no way you can convince me a lawyer is required in ANY of these 'groping character' situations. Good grief.

Not hard at all, but that doesn't lead to the big $$

--- more attorney's making money -and more people being paid off- likely for nothing. I too want to be careful because of course if this occurred it would be very wrong. But with costume gloves the size of pillow pets- let's be honest here- it likely was the same issue you mention- not being able to see where headed.

They were both very nice. I think some folks really take this waaay too far. I just don't believe that even a crazy foamhead is going to truly do anything that even approaches what goes on at most TSA checkpoints these days.
