A change in the name of the park would cause a humungous sales surge in collector's buying up everything they could. Then after the name change Ebay and all would be flooded with the products. Personally, the park is transforming, why not the name? It would end any reference to its troubled past. How do I know? I still meet and talk to people who don't even know what Disney's California Adventure is. They had just "heard" about there being another park.

But hopefully the mediocrity gives way to greatness over time. And by that time, I certainly hope they change the name. Because right now, that name "Disney's California Adventure" is pure poison from an image and marketing standpoint. Which is why it was never mentioned even when perhaps the best new area theming and new attraction (TSMM) to ever come to DCA debuted.

The fundamental mistake of the park dates back to the very beginning, when DisCo planners came up with the nonsensical idea that "California" -- or, for that matter, any single state in America -- was all so that, that it deserved a Disney park themed to it. Not helping matters, "Adventure" makes the park sound even hokier and more provincial, like one of those carney-type places in the Midwest that's open a few months each year for people who are in dire need of a way to kill a few hours.
