And does this mean that EO opens later this weekend? The Cast Member sign-in passes are all blocked out this weekend, and many AP levels are blocked out, so it looks like they planned to open it this weekend anyway.

    Anyone know more?

If anything it'll be them putting it up and taking it down and dealing with crowd flow logistics and how to actually load a full theater.

I suspect it very likely it'll open in the next few days.

"Editor's Note 2/11: Hundreds of Disneyland Cast Members will be testing Captain EO on Friday afternoon, but don't expect it to open this weekend as a Valentines Day gift. WDI will test the newly reprogrammed motion base theater floor to see if it syncs up with the EO film well, before they commit to using that effect with the public. There's still lots of work to do and perhaps several more weeks of waiting, although the Imagineers are burning the midnight oil and hoping for the best during the tests. - Al Lutz"

That seems to about sum it up, and explain why this is a "test" using CM's, rather than just a Cast Member Preview or training session. It doesn't look like we'll get a chance to see Captain EO this weekend.

If they don't open this by March, doesn't that mean Disney lied when they said it would open in February? Hista98, care to give us your thoughts on that one?

No, it means Al Lutz lied and he needs to apologize.

A cut and paste from the last AL is bad thread:

Mr. Lutz publishes rumors along with facts in his web pages. In this case Disney management hoped to have the show up and running by April, which was based on the speed of construction. Now that testing is under way it does not look like that they will meet that deadline.

How is that Mr. Lutz's fault? Did he go in there with a hammer and bash the equipment to create the delay?

At the time he wrote his article that was the most current, if not the most optimistic view of what was going to happen. Now weeks later it turns out that the information is not correct.... Again how is that his fault?

Over the years I have met Al Lutz twice and found him to be a very nice guy and easy to talk to and that he is also very passionate about Disney.

Rumors are just that..... Rumors and you should not schedule your life around them or get your hopes up because of them.

    End of cut and paste

Seriously Daannzzz: “he needs to be punished.”??? I would suggest that if you do not like what he writes then stop reading him.
