I have always been an avid supporter of the FP system but this last trip has made me somewhat less enthusiastic.I noticed certain rides had a constant flow of FP which made the stand by line stagnate resulting in a longer FP wait. The FP line basically became the standby line and the standby was just a line to watch the FPers board. This was especially evident on Toy Story Mania and Peter Pan. For example the TSMM line was to the door late one night and it took about 20-25 minutes to get on the ride. No FPers were left. The next day the same line distance was an 80 minute wait in the afternoon. the only difference was the FP admissions. I never saw the line out past the door and doubt it would get there very often because people would think the line too long. In this case FP seemed to gum up the works and slow everything down. My next experience was at universal where for a hefty sum you can get a ticket that allows anyone to bypass the line. Lines that should have been a 10 minute wait were excrutiatingly long due to the constant flow of big spenders. It was a weighted system that made us feel unwanted and ripped off. We rode 6 rides in 9.5 hours and left with aching feet vowing we would never return after spending $300 plus for a 1 day admission for our family. It is amazing how standing in lines will make your feet hurt so much more than walking.I have heard that Disney was toying with a similar system and I will tell you that if it is implemented it will kill the parks for the average guest.

That line flies when allowed to go uninterupted. I found it curious that before TSMM was built the lines for RNRC and ToT were very long and FPs were all given out early. But now those 2 rides have minimal waits all day long with ToT being 10 minutes most of the day. A ride like TSMM makes it so those people can't get another FP for quite some time. Meanwhile the other 2 lines are handling the crowd primarily with standby just fine.

The Mouse can't resist making an extra buck if he thinks he can get away with it.
