Bangkok has its charms, certainly the Grand Palace is a MUST with the lying Buddha and taking a nice cruise down the river is a plus and shoooooping . Traffic REAALLY sucks though, but the sky train can whip you around most places just fine I think . Oh yeah, watch out for scams . No worries in Hong Kong, but Bangkok, yeah, that's an issue.
