I was already miffed because the park was opening early to accommodate for President Obama at Magic Kingdom. I knew to avoid the MK like the plague, but I hadn’t planned on getting up before 6:30. However, I am a commando-style tourist, so there was no question about not being there for opening. While I was standing at the rope they were trying to get us to say “Good morning” loudly. I heard one guy yelling back with “Disney-style”. I turned to look, and I couldn’t believe it! I recognized lesmisfan. I said hi and we got to do a couple things together that day. It was wonderful, especially since none of the other possible LP meets happened.

Lesmisfan and I couldn’t get on Everest because it was closed. After I grabbed a FP, we took a spin on Dinosaur! and it scared me more than I’d like to admit. Primeval Whirl was so fun. I love this type of ride. Since there was no one in line, I went on Triceratops Spin. I chose the seat to go up/down unknowingly and happily sat at the top looking around. It was short, but enjoyable. I grabbed another FP for EE (still closed), and headed to the Safari. I rode with no wait, and got quite a few good views. I went on the Pangani trail and then had to go back the other side to see more gorillas. The gorillas were all out and incredible. I loved the baby and his parents. I grabbed a FP for the Safari for later. I attended Flights of Wonder and it was as wonderful as always. I then used my Fast Passes to ride Expedition Everest twice. I would not recommend it for congested people. My favorite show is Finding Nemo and that was next. It was so fantastic. I rode Everest again, just because I enjoy it, even while sick. I ate at Yak and Yeti for lunch and had the honey chicken. Jungle Trek was next and wonderful. I thought I should check out Rafiki’s. The hospital seemed pretty average. I was sad that they would not tell me about when future procedures might be, so I didn’t go back. Lesmisfan and I then watched the Festival of the Lion King in the lion section. It was fun. I then took some time to look at all the animals around the Oasis and way out. I loved the lemurs and kangaroos and otters.

Dinner reservations as Sanaa. I was wandering around the hotel looking at the animals, and I ran into one of my professors from vet school. It was great because she was there with her husband and she remembered me pretty well. She remembered that I like reading fantasy books and asked about that, as well as all about work and married life. So after that great experience, I got to have an even better one. The food at Sanaa was magnificent, and I got to look at lots of animals while eating. As a plus, I saw all of the extra fireworks at DHS from my bus ride home – an almost perfect viewpoint.

    Mileage count: 6.6miles walked

The view from Sanaa was priceless.
