I don't know all the details. But what matters most is that we'll be able to finally satisfy our hunger for Hostess type snacks again. Long live the Ding Dong's!!!

Like most American "treats" they are far, far too sweet and don't have any flavor. The real reason Hostess went out of business is because the market for their disgusting products has been steadily shrinking over the years, though the Union does make for a convenient scape goat.

So even though I don't like Twinkies I will welcome the return of the Hostess fruit pie.

Yes, they're pure sugar as well, but somehow they work. Yum! And also, I think you get a decent amount of (sugary) fruit...unless I'm thinking of different pies perhaps (but I don't think so)?

And this applies to all pies and cakes they sell at your average supermarket in the USA. They're all sugar bombs. Having lived outside the USA I know it doesn't have to be this way. Once on a vacation in Mexico we had some pineapple pie for dessert. My wife immediately remarked something like: "Why don't they make pies like this back home? I can actually taste the pineapple."
