Disney has announced that starting Wednesday, March 2nd, Animal Kingdom will no longer offer Extra Magic Hours (EMH) in the evenings at Animal Kingdom. Instead of having one morning and one evening EMH per week the park will now have two morning EMHs on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Maybe thats one of the reasons they stoped it, not as many guest went to the EMH night.

I think the main point is to have a park that is early to rise and early to sleep, in order to move the customers along to the next place and prepare the night lighting for the special events and corporate parties.

As to SuperDry's theory, I think they keep the lights on regardless of opening/closing hours. I could be wrong, but that has been my experience late night in Disney parks (it's fun to hang out in World Bazaar at 3 o'clock in the morning with nary a customer in sight but all the lights shining just for us workers. ;P)...

Certainly that's not the case for all the parks in all cases, but the night workers DO have to move around, after all.

And certainly they need proper lighting for the corporate parties which, if I'm not guessing wrong, occur in ALL the four parks in Florida from time to time (if not all the time).

That sounds like a excuse to me. Every other park now has a nighttime spectacular. It's part of the Disney Difference. You expect shows like that.

...To not have one in DAK is a large loss.

Also a problem. Fantasmic needs to play nightly, ans actually have some semblance of show quality brought back to it. What a joke.

...But at least it has one.
