Also, it wouldn't surprise me if the OLC is looking to add Soarin' to the TDL roster in the future. Where would you put it?

    Wrong park. ;-p

ToT seems to have been performing well but September was the anniversary month and a lot of the October traffic feeds from the Halloween festivities at TDL. The real test will be January and February when the park needs to stand on its own two feet with little special event activity.

Yup and then another from March to the end of the 5th in May. I believe the first one is something like Season of the Heart (my rough translation of the Japanese). My understanding was that it was to be a simple affair so unless TDS is below target then I expect that to still be the case.

Count me as someone who doesn't like Stormrider. Dull and terrible story. Give me Star Tours any day. To describe the "in-theater effects" as enough to make it better than the average simulator ride makes me smile. If you think that some sparks, water and a probe coming through the ceiling are great I recommend the Armageddon attraction at WDSP. The only thing I find kinda neat are the portholes on the doors. However they are far more interesting to me than the movie itself which features some of the weakest SFXs I have ever seen in a Disney movie.

Not IMO. I am not saying StormRider is bad, but it's not great either. I'd choose Soarin' over StormRider any day of the week.

Interesting. I thought that Ikspiari has nothing to do with Disney as it's a stand-alone OLC venture, so I'm surprised that Disney would allow one of their best attractions to be put in there. Do you know if they will start charging admission to Ikspiari after Soarin' goes in, or will it have it's own admission just for it?

    Oh, BTW, :)

My only complaint about Soarin' is that it doesn't really have a storyline. And I hate the abrupt ending of each scene, to me it disrupts the flow of the ride. But criticism aside, it's definitely one of the best rides I've been on.

And leemac, you could've just said yes instead of being rude. =0

I assume they would create a new film for it, which could really make it stand out in the park and from the other versions of the attraction.

You got the location spot-on FerretAfros. That theme though has never been really considered. Remember that OLC demanded that the majority of attractions needed a Disney character influence.

As for Storm rider: I like it and say its equal but no better than Star Tours.

    Ok...somebody's cranky!! :)

I just hope that they can do somethign to Soarin' to make it different, and the fact that there will be two simulator rides is not good...oh well, whatever, like I have any say over it...

Also, the CGI images needed some work, and I think it would be fairly easy to update them to modern standards.

(That is one good thing about the timing of Star Tours debut, everything was done with models, since the CGI at the time was very rough so they didn't attempt to use it, which kept the film from dating too quickly)
