Hopefully you will reemerge somewhere in Disneyland's future, someplace. I'm just sad that it was only last July that I at last discovered you, and now there is talk of closing the Bengal BBQ for good.

You know, Tom Sawyer Island could really use a nice food place, and with a little name/theme change, you could fit right in quite nicely there.

Of course in our household, anything from Bengal BBQ is called meat-on-a-stick, and not a skewer so I don't know if that counts.

So when I worked in the Info Center at Knott's, parts of my job was to take and handle complaints. I got a food complaint for Mrs. K's chicken dinner. I called the restaurant manager and she came over to speak with the guest.

Turns out the complaint was that the chicken tasted bad, that it was greasier than usual, and that the guest was afraid we changed the recipe. The very pleasant manager explained to both the guest and me that they had just changed the fryer oil that morning, and that it takes a day or two for the fryer oil to season to get to the right flavor. She also said that most people don't notice, but that the manager had been there long enough and also could taste a difference on days when they change the oil.

We comped the guest a whole pie after reassuring them that nothing had changed.

I still was in awe that they didn't change the oil every day.
