We drove down on Sunday the 5th and my little girl was sick the whole way. She was very miserable but didn’t want to turn around so we kept going. Our first day in ‘The Land’ was Monday. All started well, but after a few hours my little boy came down with a pretty high fever. He spent the rest of the day in the hotel, we rotated who stayed with him. The next day he was feeling much better so we hit the parks again. By the end of the day, the fever was creeping it’s way back and he was not feeling very good. I gave him some Tylenol and headed back to the hotel. On the way back we passed Alice and he insisted on riding it. So we went, and that perked him right up. He kept seeing more and more rides he wanted to go on. I took his temperature, and the fever was gone, never to be seen or heard from again!! It was the Alice miracle cure! I have no idea what they had, but whatever it was it didn’t’ last very long, thank heavens! The rest of the trip was fabulous. We saw World of Color (wasn’t very impressed), I had my sourdough soup bowl which was tasty as usual. The muffins are back to being delicious (last time they were awful), and Wetzel Pretzel is still cranking out amazing Sinful Cinnamon pretzels! I got into the Vinylmation craze (against my will, but it is very addicting). We rode and saw almost everything we wanted to. I wanted to se ‘Tough To Be A Bug’, but my 6 year old said, “We saw that last time Mom.” I don’t think she will be the Disneyland fan that her brother and I are, but we still love her. The only complaint I have, besides how darn expensive everything is, is that my very cute, very small 4 year old was too small for all the rides he was dying to go on. There was much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth over that, but alas he did survive. With only a few minor bumps, we had a wonderful time. I’m having Disneyland withdrawals very bad right now, I only hope I can survive until the next trip!

My youngest daugher is also very small for her age. At 4 she really noticed she was not able to go on many of the rides that her older sister could go on, and was very sad about it. At that point I thought Disney should starting charging based on height, not age!
Anyway, the next trip, she was BARELY tall enough and our first ride was Big Thunder. They measured her and said she was ok, and we all started jumping up and down and screaming, we were so happy!
The whole trip she was measured twice for all the "big" rides, but was able to ride every time!
    He'll be there soon!!

Oh I hope so! I promised that we wouldn't go back until he could ride Space Mt.! I love your idea about charging based on height, of course they might charge an arm and a leg for my husband!

So dave, Disneyland really has the most height unrestricted rides? I have to admit other than Lagoon (a little local amusement park) we haven't been to any other theme/amusement parks. Good to know though!

But I do miss the days of DL pre 1977 where there wasn't really any height restrictions.

We were there over Labor Day and ran into the same problem with my also tiny 4 year old daughter. She wanted Splash Mountain badly, but is about 1/2 inch too short. So I feel your pain. :)

Our son had a fever on our 2009 trip. Should've tried riding Alice. Will remember that next time. ;)

We were tempted. My husband and brother were coming up with all kinds of ideas. But we did talk to a Cast Member and she told us that it didn't matter how tall his shoes made him, as long as he kept them on they had to let him ride. Now, to find high heels that a 4 year old boy would wear...
