    Good halvah is about the richest and sweetest thing ever. In L.A. and San Francisco, you can find cheap, dry halvah in supermarkets, but for the good stuff you have to go to a deli.

    As a kid I imagined that the best thing about being an adult would be being able to eat halvah any time I wanted to.

    There's something so different between a Louisiana po boy and a sub here in California. Their french rolls alone are like nothing I've ever tasted before in my LIFE. (My husband & I had to ask what kind of rolls they even were!) And the taste of that pot roast/gravy... mmmmmmmm! I just can't even describe it.

    The fried chicken at 50's Prime Time Cafe is a close second.
