Except for one NYE I went to see Mickey Mouse in the Rose Bowl Parade. Colorado Street in Pasadena (parade route) is one crazy all night party spot!
I think Las Vegas would be fun for NYE.
Also New York City except for the cold weather.
What is on your list of Top 5 places to be on New Years Eve?

I think we went to the castle stage around 6:00 and waited there for the midnight countdown. It took us at least an hour to get from the castle out of the main gate when they started dumping the park.

Again, memorable but not something I want to do again.

I also saw the Rose Parade back in the 80s and that was a pretty memorable couple of days. We stayed in a van down by the river (actually, in a park by the stadium). We toured some of the float barns which was pretty cool...even for a kid. And, of course, we got up very early and hoofed it over to the parade route where we found a spot on the curb and enjoyed the festivities.

As a father right now I'm just fine being at home where I know we are safe. The drinking and driving always has me concerned.

This year we will be in Dallas visiting my mother and sister... a considerably more low-key evening.
