The last time we went to DL (Oct. 2005), though, there were two early entry "events" available to us. One was a one-time one-hour early entry to Fantasyland. There were a few days during our stay it was happening and we had to choose one. If I remember correctly, everything in Fantasyland was open, including the Matterhorn. It was TOTALLY worth it to us...we were able to ride literally every ride in Fantasyland in that hour. We actually walked on just about everything except Dumbo. The other was "Mickey's ToonTown Madness." That gave us one entry one hour early into Toon Town (on a different day). For that, we rode everything there plus got to see all the characters without much wait. They also gave us "honorary citizen" buttons and had a "street party" with musicians, etc. My understanding is that "Disneyland resort guests" get the early entry options. We have always stayed on property (DLH or DGC) but I think you get the benefits if you book through Disney travel and stay at a "good neighbor" hotel too. We are booked for a September vacation and have been told the early entries are the same as our last trip (one in Fantasyland and one in Toon Town). Hope that helps a little : )

Is it faster to hop on the Monorail at Downtown Disney, jump off at Tomorrowland and then run over to Dumbo? Or do those super early people just arrive at bag check before the crack of dawn? Someone should publish a "Disneyland for Dummies" book. Come to think of it, they probably already have. LOL.
