Also, Katherin McPhee is singing a Princess medley right now, and is it wrong of me to think that some of the Princesses don't look like "princesses"?? Belle and Jasmine more specifically.

We really liked the new character heads that blinked and spoke. The seemed very well done.

    Merry Christmas, everyone!

For the Christmas Day Parade telecast, the Christmas parades include every unit from every parade on property! :)

I missed the first hour of the show because ABC adjusted the airtime on the West Coast (stupid NBA telecast!), but I liked most of what I saw.

To the parents of the Hannah Montana fans out there - Does Miley Cyrus always sound that bad? Her performance sounded like somebody was going crazy on the sound mixing board. Usually, music people tend to do that when they don't have much to work with....

And Jessica Simpson... somebody apprently missed the rehearsal. Why'd somebody give her a mike that completely covered the bottom of her face, and why did she insist on holding it so it obscured her face?

Good show otherwise. Loved the preview footage of Toy Story Mania!

I missed Jessica, I had recorded it, we re-watched it today, but only the HSM2 and Miley parts again.

It's kind of weird. DD noticed when we were watching the parade.

I don't think so, basil fan. The characters' voices don't actually come out of the heads during the stage shows - they come across the stage speakers and I assume the voices and the lip and eye movements are pre-recorded and pre-programmed along with the soundtrack of the show, kinda like with the AAs. I'd assume that they had the characters' movements and speaking parts pre-recorded and they were called up on cue for the shots.

Can you imagine what it'll be like when they can get to the point when the characters CAN "speak" stock phrases when needed when meeting guests, or even move their lips while the person controlling the character (who may or may not be the person in the suit)speaks to the guest? Oh, sure it may sound a little like science fiction now, but after Crush, Lucky, and Muppet Mobile Labs, it doesn't seem all that implausible anymore...

Disney tries to control the situation too much, in my opinion. Blue skies, perfect little Disney families in the background, etc. Frankly, they have taken all of the fun out of it.
