It sounded like a big deal that would take months to finish, which is probably why the delay.

    Maybe this winter?

I agree. From the ground, it looks like a reasonable temporary solution (though a temporary solution should never last 3 years); it's when you're on the ride that it really looks terrible. In addition to clearly being plain plywood that is next to you, it takes away all the fun of being outside: you have no idea how high up you are, you don't get the feeling that you're going to drive over the edge, and it's so big and bulky that you can barely see the people walking by.

In theory, it's an okay temporary solution. However, it's been there so long that I'm a little concerned that they have no real plan to fix it. If they were able to add themed fall protection walls to the roofs of Fantasyland within a couple months of discovering the problem, then why has this lasted so long?

And for what it's worth, the leaves that they removed to put up the scaffholding are still backstage, They're in an open-sided wooden crate that's sitting on top of a shipping container behind the Haunted Mansion show building. The 5K and 10K over Labor Day weekend took us right past them, and it was very clear where they came from

This is exactly what I thought. The outside portion used to be kind of a cool part of the ride, giving you a little thrill zig-zagging down on a narrow track. Now that it's all covered over it's a huge disappointment.

According to the latest MiceAge DL Update Alice is set to receive a massive overhaul early next year that will include a reconfigured ramp.
