He is so weak he can barely stand and when we pick him up he just lays against our chests. We love him so much and have had him since he was six months old. He's only a little over six years, but he is a Siamese and they tend to get a lot sicker than other cats. So please, in honor of Jake, say a prayer or think a good thought for us. He's at the vet now (the third time in two weeks) and we'll call tomorrow to let them know we'd like him put to sleep. Thanks all.

I wish you the best, and I know you have made the right decision for your baby.

I then asked to see the vet who was there and she (the vet) came into the room I was led to with Jake. I said we had decided to put Jake down. The vet said that would have been her decision too. I spent about 20 minutes saying good bye to Jake and then the vet came back and asked if I wanted to be with Jake for the end and I said yes. She left for about 30 seconds and returned to remove the IV that was hydrating Jake. The little piece left in Jake's leg where the IV had been removed was then connected to a syringe and she pushed in the liquid that would end Jake's life. Immediately, I laid my head on Jake's side and told him we would miss him and we loved him. As his heart stopped I kissed his neck and released him to go to God. I cried quite a bit and then left his lifeless body to be dealt with by the Hospital. Jake left us at 2 pm this afternoon.
