I can't think of anything more out of place in Jungle Cruise than Baloo poking his head around the corner or Dumbo flopping around in the water. And you know what? They'd be so unwelcome that why even bother staying on theme. Might as well have Gaston shooting Bambi while Belle and the Beast dance the night away on the shore. It'd make about as much sense.

I like that piloting idea with the Jungle Gear and all that. And I'm still imagining Dumbo sitting under that elephant that sits under the waterfall. That'd be so cute!

NOW .. when toons are properly dressed in an appropriate attraction setting made from scratch for them (ALA - the Fantasyland 5 dark rides, then it's another matter.) It's this trying to force these 2 dimensional beings .. into a very "3D" world I fine jarring.

I will always contend .. the toons belong ONLY in Fantasyland & Toontown, and Critter Country.. as far as the "magic kingdom" parks go. That's a lot, already. Tomorrrowland, Adventureland, Frontierland, New Orleans Square, Liberty Square ..... all these lands - keep those d*mn toons out, please!

With all the talk about how the toons have changed the message of iasw, I do think toons in the JC would change the theme from one of realism (with a few cartonny elements thrown in like the safari climbing up the pole) to a toon jungle. And I don't think I'd like to see that.

The line of guys waiting for Jasmine's boat would be ridiculous. Have WALL-E do the narration so we don't have to hire any more boat captains. Replace Trader Sam with the guy from the beginning of Aladdin, the snake hissing in a tree with Sir Hiss, the piranha with Cleo, and the Village People with the Seven Dwarfs. An all new scene will feature the princesses cleaning up a campsite with their jungle animal friends.

After all, the ride has already had one major re-design since it was built. It is not original. If it were done, the additions should be kept somewhat in the background rather than front and center, or make it even more discreet with the emphasis placed on spotting the semi hidden toons, like Shere Khan looking ominously through the Bamboo. The Dumbo idea is really not bad.

I already admitted that there are toon-ish elements, like the elephant in the shower. But it's still a "real" elephant, and the lions are "real" and the giraffes are "real", etc. Plop in a toon Baloo and you really do completely change the vibe of the attraction. I'm not saying that Disney couldn't do this well. But up front, without seeing any plans at all, I would vote no.
