Did A Drone Fly Through DCA?

    Witnesses say last Friday around 7:30 a.m. a drone appeared to fly through DCA at an elevation of about 40 feet. It looked like a flying spider and very methodically surveilled the park. Workers waved at it, assuming there was a camera attached. Park officials are saying it didn't happen.

    If it was a 'real' drone, then I don't think it would have been flying around at 40'. That elevation is lower than most of the treetops, and many of the buildings (Carthay Circle is just under 80' tall)

    Most likely it was something being tested by Disney for an upcoming attraction/show (like the dragon for WDW's Fantasyland expansion opening), or some CM who wanted to test out their latest gadget from Brookstone

    Must be one of those remote controlled helicopters (quadrocopter) with 4 propellers for filming. They sell them at Samy's Cameras for under $1000 - way cool.
    They used one at Magic Mountain to film part of the Full Throttle commercial and grand opening. It was hovering need the top of the loop. You can see the footage on youtube.
