We belong to a SAM ring and have a contact to get into the Castle and have been wanting to go for a long time, however, our daughter is too young to go in the evenings as you have to be 21. They do allow children for Sunday brunch; however, that is supposed to be our first day a Disneyland. If we go to the MC it only gives us two days in the park, which is definitely NOT long enough for these Disney girls.

Our family bought APs when they were just down there, so hopefully they will make a trip with us next year some time and hubby and I can then have a date night to explore the Castle and see some shows.

So anyone ever been? If so, how did you like it???

One of my best friend's husband is a performing member. He does close-up magic. If and when you go, make sure you catch a close-up show as well as a show in the main theater.

From what I remember, the meals are pricey, but the quality of the food is excellent. Also, it's a dress-up kinda place, so do dress up. :)

Ambience, from what I remember, is heavily curtained and Victorian in nature. Dark woods and beautiful lighting fixtures.

    A very cool place.

I really wish we could take our daughter for an evening performance. She is very respectful of the performers as she is a member of the Society of Young Magicians and also attends the adult meetings with us for the Society of American Magicians.

I'm glad to hear that everyone's experiences about the castle are as positive as I would have imagined. Hopefully, when are family next goes with us we will be able to go out for the evening.

A little Disney trivia - when you're waiting to get your car from the valet, take a listen to the music playing out there. They have a tape of Disney music done with harpsicord and other orchestrations, not usually heard, and definitely surprising to hear there!!

I think a couple of the reasons they have an age limit at night is that some of the "humor" used by some of the magicians tends to be considered "adult" and then obviously when it comes to drinking alcohol.

We've gone for lunch once and it really didn't have the "magic" the night shows do. But I'm sure you'll have a fun time anyway.
