    Imagine, "Soarin' Over Florida", instead!

And, this shows what a simple attraction Soarin' is. With it being this easy for any guy to make a film like this do you think Disney will make use of the technology and update the film, or will it still be the same film 10 years from now. Granted, the Disney films is much more complex with the photography and pacing, but it is a good example of what potential there is with the ride system. A good reminder.

But on the flip side, on top of detesting the show building at EPCOT, it also shows how this attraction might not be so spectacular in 5 or 6 years. I've always felt that this is a great supporting character in the show that is Disney. My only concern is when Disney relies on it to be the leading man in the show. It's an great update to the circlevision concept.

Oh, and if the film was a serious attempt to make a "Soarin'" film, the creator of the film forgot that you are supposed to be flying in a hand glider style craft. It was amusing how through out the film, you are traveling sideways or even backwards!!! Now THAT'S a really talented hand glider pilot! :p

And don't be surprised if this is a 'surprise' annoucement as part of the 'we really didn't forget, but we wish you had' Epcot 25th anniversary.

If we are on a handglider, we are supposed to be flying *towards* things, and not looking sideways as things are passing up by our left or right. 2) Backwards flying... Again, we should be flying towards things and not away from them, otherwise we are riding the handglider backwards. And 3) rough cuts within the same scene..foe example.. we are flying by the Boc Tower and the all of a sudden the scene changes to a different angle of the same object. BAD BAD.

The only true good moment on the film was at the end.. when we were flying away from Universal... again not well executed in regards to the actual aim of the ride system to simulate actual handgliding in mid air.

I personally enjoyed the "other" little clip where our geeks are complaining about being in line for 'Soarin' for 1 hr and 20 mins... and their feet are killing them! Yup, that's the way Disney intended FP to be: physical torture. At least *THAT* they got right.

I would be very surprised if the person who made this took any of their own film, so it is very well done, considering that they were just using second hand films. I also couldn't help but notice how boring the scenery got after a little while. It was nice for the first 2/3, but after that, it all started repeating itself again, which really isn't a problem at all with the original. I'm also a big fan of the shuttle launch, and would have never thought of doing that for the film, but it works very well (although I might have used it in the Blue Angles part of the music, but it still works well)

I think the shuttle scene has potential if done right, but the Blue Angles are based out of Pensicola, so it would fit right in if they used that.

Regarding duplicating the other California scenes... it just can't be done given FL lack of comparable scenery. Sorry, but FL is FLAT and boring. Different types of trees on flat land, swamps and flat beaches don't compare to the majesty CA has to offer.

What was that bridge and the tower? Certainly isn't as recogognizable as the Golden Gate Bridge.

I think the USF scene at the end really is an indicator that this was more "tounge in cheek" as opposed to a serious attempt to make a Soarin' over FL.

I personally think a new film should be Soarin' over America.

And yes, other than the Space Shuttle, you really wouldn't want to dwell on any of the landscapes in this for very long.

Not every state can be blessed with the diversity of beautiful scenery that California has. Could you imagine if someone tried to do this for some other states like Kansas (now THAT's flat and boring) or Delaware or Rhode Island (over in about 10 seconds!). THEN, I would say it was a spoof. This felt more like a sincere attempt to me. For an amateur internet effort, I thought the film was spectacular and thought others might enjoy it for what it was.

    Oh brother.

Good gosh, this person found existing footage of Florida, cobbled it together and yes, put together a very well done 'psuedo-Soarin' attraction.

    Sideways and backwards flight....

If someone put something up on the WORLD WIDE WEB for others to see, OF COURSE you have to expect that people will comment on it both negatively and positively.

Just because some of you "assume" it is some "kid" or "amature" doing this, does that mean we should all reserve our comments to just "happy" and positive ones?

IMO, you put spmething up on the web for others to see, you can ALWAYS expect both positive and negative comments.

Why should this video be considered any different?

    SHEESH! *rolls eyes twice*
