Thanks!

The walk's probably shorter than shown in this link, if you cut across the parking lot:

They don't want someone to have to miss dinner to wait for groceries, and the next two days they will be at a convention during the delivery hours.

Does anyone think I could ask the GCH to call them on a cell when the groceries arrive?

I did some more digging and found this, in case anyone else was wondering.

It seems the bell desk will accept delivery, and call to let you know it has arrived, at least at the DLH in 2006.

    Good job GCH!

I'm so excited about my upcoming trip with the good rate too!

Do you know the number for vacation planning for ordering special things for the room for the Grand (i.e the welcome packages and special treats). I remember seeing on one of your posts that you got a Christmas tree one year from vacation planning for your room at the Grand. Also if anyone had a list of the current offerings that would be great. Thanks

Here is the email address for vacation planning:

    vacationplanning@disneyonline.com

And here is the phone number:

    (714) 300-PLAN (7526) then 2 with the automated phone thing to reach vacation planning.

I generally have better luck if I call and speak to a person. Initially it can be a bit frustrating because you usually have to leave a message and they call you back, which sometimes takes a few days during a busy season. After that, that individual person is usually very helpful, and takes care of your special requests personally. The vacation planning CMs have sometimes given me an email address with which to reach them, and they have provided me with excellent service. I have a vague recollection that I didn't get good results using the email address as a first contact, but maybe I'm imagining that.

However, it is almost impossible to find Vacation Planning information on the website anymore. I am not sure if I am just not adept at navigating the new website, but the number seems hard to find, buried in text at the bottom of the "More Tips" page, after you go to "Tickets and Packages" and then "More Tips." The website does not refer to Vacation Planning, but says:

"Hotel Guests can have rooms decorated for any special celebration: birthdays, a new baby, an anniversary and much more! Just call (714) 300-7526† for details."

Here is a link to that page:

    <a href="http://disneyland.disney.go.com/plan/tips/more/" target="_blank">http://disneyland.disney.go.co...ps/more/</a>

On another page, there is information about something that is somewhat new-ish (in the last year or so, I think?) which seems to call cast members the "What will you Celebrate Dream Makers,"

Here is text from that page:

    "GIVE A MAGICAL EXPERIENCE

Giving is one of the most magical experiences in the world. But finding the right gift for a birthday, anniversary or even just to say "congratulations" can be difficult. Often people don't even know where to begin.

That's where the Disney Dream Makers can help. When a loved one is visiting the Disneyland® Resort, you can give something from the heart to make the celebration extra special. With their expertise in enchantment, the Dream Makers can help you create a gift experience that your loved one will remember forever.

How the Dream Makers Make Magical Moments and More

Inspired by your ideas and desires, the Disney Dream Makers can help you create the perfect surprise gift for someone you love. The Dream Makers offer three different kinds of gifts:

Personalized surprise gifts delivered to your Resort Hotel room
A sensational celebration that takes over your loved one's Disneyland® Resort Hotel room
A gift card for the experience of your choice
Gifts Galore Brought to Special Locations"

Here is a link to that page:

    <a href="http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/whatWillYouCelebrate/index?name=CelebrationsGiftingPage" target="_blank">http://disneyland.disney.go.co...tingPage</a>

Nowhere on the website do I see a mention of the old vacation planning stuff you could order, including the Christmas tree. There used to be a list of the gift baskets and seasonal whatnot that was available that you could access from the Hotel webpage, by clicking on "Plan Your Trip," and then "Vacation Planning."

However, with the new Dream Maker thing, and the old number still working, I would guess that they would still find a way to sell you a tree for your room. I'm just not sure if you should call the "Dream Makers" or the "Vacation Planners." Please keep us posted about what ends up working!

I love my tree, and still put it up every year. On a somewhat gross note, there are still cookies hanging off of it from three years ago. They were seriously wrapped up to look like ornaments, and I'm sure chock full of preservatives, but I couldn't bring myself to eat them the first year, too cute, and the next year they were still there and looked OK, and last year we were traveling and didn't take the tree out, and uh-oh, that means this Christmas will be four years. I should probably go throw out those cookies, ha ha.

I hope this helps! I am planning on calling the old vacation planning soon for our upcoming trip in October, and I will let you know how it goes.

Hopefully they will have a great Christmas tree for you!

We have always gotten Mickey cookies and milk delivered to the room too, which is a fun thing to come back to the room at the end of the day. Let me know what you kind out when you call.
